November 2010

  • In November 2010 PKF's national hotel sample experienced a 3.8 point increase in occupancy from November 2009 to 58.0%.

  • The November 2010 average daily room rate for hotels tracked by PKF increased by 1.7% from November 2009 to $121.07.

  • Revenue per available room for PKF's sample increased by 8.8% to $70.27 in November 2010 compared with $64.57 in November 2009.

October 2010

  • In October 2010 PKF's national hotel sample experienced a 2.5 point increase in occupancy from October 2009 to 63.4%.

  • The October 2010 average daily room rate for hotels tracked by PKF increased by 1.5% from October 2009 to $125.51.

  • Revenue per available room for PKF's sample increased by 5.6% to $79.53 in October 2010 compared with $75.34 in October 2009.

September 2010

  • In September 2010, PKF’s national hotel sample experienced a 2.4 point increase in occupancy from September 2009 to 70.2%.

  • The September 2010 average daily room rate for hotels tracked by PKF increased by 0.6% from September 2009 to $131.14.

  • Revenue per available room for PKF’s sample increased by 4.1% to $92.02 in September 2010 compared with $88.37 in September 2009.

August 2010

  • In August 2010, PKF’s national hotel sample experienced an increase of 1.4 occupancy points from August 2009 to 72.0%.

  • The August 2010 average daily room rate for hotels tracked by PKF decreased by 0.2% from August 2009 to $130.11.

  • Revenue per available room for PKF’s sample increased by 1.8% to $93.68 in August 2010 compared with $92.07 in August 2009.

July 2010

  • In July 2010, PKF’s national hotel sample experienced an increase of 4.0 occupancy points from July 2009 to 70.4%.

  • The July 2010 average daily room rate for hotels tracked by PKF grew by 1.5% from July 2009 to $130.90.

  • Revenue per available room for PKF’s sample increased by 7.5% to $92.12 in July 2010 compared with $85.66 in July 2009.

June 2010

  • In June 2010, PKF’s national hotel sample experienced an increase of 5.1 occupancy points from June 2009 to 68.4%.

  • The June 2010 average daily room rate for hotels tracked by PKF grew by 6.2% from June 2009 to $136.77. The June 2010 occupancy and ADR were positively impacted by the G8 Summit held in Hunstville, the G-20 Summit held in Toronto as well as the 101st Convention of Rotary International which was held in Montreal.

  • Revenue per available room for PKF’s sample increased by 14.7% to $93.62 in June 2010 compared with $81.60 in June 2009.

May 2010

  • In May 2010, the PKF national hotel sample experienced a 1.8 point increase in occupancy from May 2009 to 61.0%.

  • The May 2010 average daily room rate for hotels tracked by PKF decreased by 0.5% to $124.57 compared with $125.15 in May 2009

  • Revenue per available room for PKF's sample rose by 2.6% to $76.02 in May 2010 compared with $74.08 in May 2009.

April 2010

  • In April 2010, the PKF national hotel sample experienced a 1.2 point increase in occupancy from April 2009 to 56.5%.

  • The April 2010 average daily room rate for hotels tracked by PKF increased by 0.9% to $120.55 compared with $119.52 in April 2009.

  • Revenue per available room for PKF's sample rose by 3.0% to $68.06 in April 2010 compared with $66.06 in April 2009.

March 2010

  • In March 2010, the PKF national hotel sample experienced a 1.4 point increase in occupancy from March 2009 to 56.3%.

  • The March 2010 average daily room rate for hotels tracked by PKF increased by 0.6% to $122.76 compared with $121.97 in March 2009.

  • Revenue per available room for PKF’s sample rose by 3.2% to $69.13 in March 2010 compared with $66.96 in March 2009.

January / February 2010

  • In January 2010 the PKF national hotel sample achieved a 45.6% occupancy level, a 1.6 percentage point decrease from January 2009. In February 2010, PKF's national hotel sample reported a 56.2% occupancy level, an increase if 0.8 percentage points from February 2009.

  • In January 2010 the national average daily room rate for hotels tracked by PKF decreased by 1.9% from January 2009 to $119.10. The national average daily room rate for February 2010 was $141.72, an increase of 14.1% over February 2009.

  • Revenue per available room for PKF's sample dropped by 5.3% to $54.34 in January 2010 while RevPAR increased to $79.70 in February 2010, 15.7% higher than February 2009.
